Parâmetros Cruciais no Ensino por Partículas Magnéticas
The magnetic particle testing presents some parameters that must be controlled. Some are related to the equipment, others to the product itself (particles or concentrates) and still others to the possible contamination of the bath.
The correct test requires effective control of these aspects, as well as adequate training of the personnel involved in the execution of the test.
Equipment Aspects
The machine must be calibrated and the current generated for the test in each part must be accurately known. This current may be: half wave alternating, full wave alternating or continuous. It is essential to adapt the equipment to each type of part to be tested.
Product Aspects
Granulometry, visualization, sensitivity, particle dispersion, part wetting, in the case of a wet process, antioxidant and antifoam capacity
Contaminants
Excessive scale, dust carry-over, foundry dust, blasting residues, etc. oils, protectives, release agents, cleaning detergents. All these factors affect the performance of the test. Contamination with soluble oils tends to generate a proliferation of microorganisms, resulting in a bad smell, which sometimes prevents the inspector from remaining in the inspection booth.
Complementary Accessories
Decanter tube: used to measure the concentration of the bath and also to check the depigmentation of the particle, Meters: may be white light, black light, magnetic field and residual magnetic field, and are used to check the minimum conditions for carrying out the test.
Standards
They are used to verify the performance of the equipment and the product. The maintenance and monitoring of the magnetic particle bath result in the realization of a good test in the repeatability of the results and in a great economy for the company.
