The quantitative crack indicator also known as artificial crack pattern is a thin sheet of 0.002 to 0.004 inch thickness. It is used to simulate a crack and, because of its ease of adaptation to any type of geometry, it is able to verify the existence of magnetic flux in a certain part of the part. It must be used only with wet PM and under constant magnetization.
