Flamabilidade do Propelente em Aerossol

METALCHEK products are supplied with two types of propellant - flammable (hydrocarbon) and non-flammable (CO2 or Dymel 134A). The hydrocarbon propellant should not be used in closed, confined or unventilated environments, because the butane/propane gas accumulated carries the risk of explosion in the presence of sparks or opening of electric arc. The new guidelines of the Ministry of Transport (Decree No 96044 of 18 May 1998, Decree 204 of 12 February 2004, NBR 7500, PP7 Self-protection Manual and the Official Gazette of the Union concerning the above resolutions) stipulate that every aerosol containing substances with a flash point* lower than 100ºC must be classified as inflammable gas and identified on the packaging for transport purposes (special provision No 63 of Decree 204) and should be identified with the following symbol

Therefore, products filled with CO2 or Dymel, gases which when expelled do not have inflammable characteristics, shall display the above symbol on their packaging. For the correct identification of the product for industrial safety purposes, the type of gas indicated on the adhesive label (white, red, green or yellow) of the aerosol can must be consulted in the item "Propellant used", observing: Hydrocarbon: inflammable gas CO2 or Dymel 134A: non-inflammable gases

*Boiling point: the lowest temperature at a pressure of 101.3kPa at which the vapors of a liquid ignite.
